History Lecture Series – The Great Black Swamp
The Monclova Historical Foundation invites you to join us on Wednesday, July 17th at 7:00pm for our next History Lecture – The Great Black Swamp featuring Chris Lankenau & Sheri Friesner.
The Great Black Swamp was a dark, mosquito-infested area about 25 miles wide and 100 miles long, covering an estimated 1,500 square miles. Join us as we learn about the history of this region of Northwest Ohio. Staff from Sauder Village will be with us to discuss all aspects of the Black Swamp; from the animals and plant life, to why and how families even chose to settle here.
The lecture will take place at the Monclova Community Center (Ottawa Room) located at 8115 Monclova Road – just 3 miles West of St. Luke’s Hospital. Admission and parking are FREE. An elevator is located at the west entrance to the building. Hope to see you there!
